Progress continues toward a vaccine Pfizer and Moderna

 Meanwhile, progress continues toward a vaccine.

 Pfizer Inc. (PFE) and BioNTech SE (BNTX) on Wednesday said their vaccine candidate was 95% effective, according to a final analysis of clinical trial data. 

Moderna Inc. (MRNA) on Monday said its vaccine candidate was 94.5% effective. Both are expected to apply for U.S. regulatory authorization within days.

  • L Brands, Inc. (NYSE: LB) rose 16.1% to $39.12 in pre-market trading after the company reported upbeat quarterly results.
  • Forum Merger III Corporation (NASDAQ: FIII) rose 15.3% to $11.30 in pre-market trading.
  • JOYY Inc. (NASDAQ: YY) rose 14.1% to $84.01 in pre-market trading. JOYY shares tumbled 26% on Wednesday after Muddy Waters Research issued a short report on the stock, alleging fraud.
